In the year that CINANIMA – International Animated Film Festival celebrates 35 years of existence, receives 10 Feature Films for pre-selection – a number that passes the (6) films submitted in 2010. In August, André Marques (Portugal), Germano Campos (Portugal) e Katelijn Smissaert (Belgium) will have the task to select the best films to be in the International Competition from the 7th to the 13th November. China runs with KUIBA-KUIBA, of Chuan Wang, Poland presents two films: GEORGE, THE HEDGEHOG, of Wojtek Wawszczyk and THE FLYING MACHINE, of Martin Clapp and Geoff Lindsey. The Russian Garru Bardin presents his film THE UGLY DUCKLING, and India exhibits TRIPURA: THE THREE CITIES OF MAYA, of Chetan Sharma and THE DIRECTION, of P.R. Ramadas Naidu Naidu. From Taiwan arrives MEMORY LOSS, of Tzu-Jien Leng. The French 7 BROTHERS, of Riitta Nelimarkka, the German LITTLE VOICES, of Jairo Carrillo and DEAD BUT NOT BURIED, by Phil Mulloy (United Kingdom) complete the 13h05m of films in pre-selection. From the 10 films submitted, only 6 are directed to a general audience and 4 to children and youngsters – which is a turning point since CINANIMA has been receiving more feature films clearly directed to adults. The results of the pre-selection will be announced on the website.
