Team Animagic meets Hans Bacher!

On 28th july, team Animagic stopped all work, hired a minibus and set off on a special pilgrimage.. to get a darshan of the legendary Hans Bacher!! Hans was stopping by in mumbai on his India trip and great folks at TASI and ACK animation studio were able to get him to interact with the fraternity in this special session!! Thanks a ton guys!!

On a personal note, Hans, who thru his book, Dreamworlds, has inspired us in our endeavors to create better composition and color scripting, was intrigued by the culmination of those efforts in Art of Tripura album. He was kind and gracious enough to state that the book ought to be available commercially and that he himself would want to buy it… He has also indicated very strongly that he would love to visit the studio on his next trip…!!! we hope it is soon!!!hans Animagic 004 In his 40th year in the industry, production designer Hans Bacher is acknowledged as one of the legends in animation film design. His work with Walt Disney Feature Animation, Richard Williams, and Steven Spielberg’s Amblimation saw him production design for such historic films as Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Aladdin, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Balto, Hercules, Fantasia 2000, Lilo and Stitch, Little Match Girl, Brother Bear and Mulan amongst several others. He is a member of the academy of motion picture arts and sciences and has been honored with the Golden Camera Award and an Annie for outstanding individual achievement in Production Design. His first book, Dreamworlds: Production Design for Animation, published by Focal Press, Oxford is considered the best textbook for this subject worldwide.hans Animagic 03 copy
