Storyboards

Once storyboarding begins, the real filmmaking process in an animation film starts. The script undergoes a zillion changes, entire scenes and sequences are reworked, refitted or sometimes removed or sometimes added. The very structure undergoes radical changes as the characters start revealing themselves in the storyboarding process. We don’t storyboard by numbers, longshot, midshot, closeup …etc. The entire process is a grueling and ideational process where the initial script merely serves as a springboard from which to create the entire world of the story. Every character sees the world from his point of view. As we start living the story we start seeing that and need to shape the films structure accordingly.
